First things first: This is my 100th post! I'll have to think of something fun to commemorate this occasion. I'll get back to you on that.
Last month, I had family portraits done by the fabulously talented Connie Groah of Barefoot Photography, and I couldn't be more excited. She let me borrow some of the images to show you.
Of course the hardest part of the whole process was seeing the change in our children right before our very eyes. It's so easy to continue to see them as you remember them-to look them as they have always been rather than the people they are becoming. When you're confronted with photographic evidence of their growing up, it's hard to ignore. This fact alone makes me so grateful that we captured this piece of time in a photograph. It's never easy getting the five of us in one spot for more than a few minutes, and to have us all in one place and clean(!) was particularly tricky. Connie make the whole experience easy and fun - and now I know what the grandparents are going to get for Christmas!
And one more thing - my glasses and contacts are a thing of the past! Yesterday I had lasik eye surgery. It's something that I've wanted for a long, long time but I'd put it off for lots of reasons. This fall, it all fell into place and so I did it. Honestly the hardest part was wearing my glasses full time for the two weeks prior to surgery. I much preferred my contacts - not only for vanity's sake, but because my vision was far better with them. The surgery itself took less than a minute per eye, and there was minimal discomfort. After going home and taking a dr. prescribed 4 hour nap, I woke up to new eyes. After a full night's sleep last night, I have even better vision. I go in for a follow-up appointment this morning - but I can't begin to describe the miracle of waking in the morning and being able to see. Those of you who have great vision, say a little prayer of gratitude for it. It's an amazing gift.
For anyone wondering, yes, the O'Neills are that georgous in person and times that by 10 for the FUN FACTOR!
These so rock... and big Pather cheers on the miracle of modern lazer zapps!
