Lots and lots of big deals happening these days at Canoe U! First last week, youngest's piano recital. Despite much gnashing of teeth and more than a little complaining, he played beautifully - and may have even enjoyed a little bit!
Saturday brought Ring Dance - preceded by dinner with a handsome Naval Officer:
After a fabulous dinner in downtown Annapolis, we headed for the Ring Dance. First of all, it's the most beautiful tent I've ever seen:
The tent was transformed into a chic cosmopolitan club. Beautiful lights, leather sofas and chaise lounge chairs formed conversational areas around the interior perimeter of the tent, and the center bar was surrounded by a mirrored facade. Each table had a very contemporary arrangement with orchids, ginger flowers, and ti leaves. and lights at each tent post.
As if that wasn't enough fun, last night was the Superintendent's Garden Party. The setting was spectacular, and the weather was perfect. Party music was provided by the jazz band, and the food and drink were plentiful. Proud parents beamed as they were introduced by their graduating midshipmen, and tears glistened in the eyes of grandparents as they watched their grandchildren become adults before their eyes.
